The owners, Keith and Sandi Beutler, moved to Bend in 1987. Being excited about Mt Biking, we started our lives together as business partners at Mt. Bachelor Bike. In college, Keith majored in Exercise Science and Sandi in Human Development and Performance. Here, at the beginning of the Mt Bike explosion, they rode the wave. With backgrounds in Health Club Management they saw that the home fitness market was growing and moved toward selling fitness equipment, training and service.
Focusing their energy on selling and delivering quality exercise equipment engineered for durability and improving lifestyle, they have crafted a business that has allowed them to live in Bend and enjoy the good fortune of what it has to offer.
When not in the store, you can find Keith and Sandi training and enjoying the Central Oregon lifestyle, biking, sailing, fly fishing, bird hunting and hiking. They have two grown children, which both played collegiate sports . Their daughter Maryn lives in Denver, she is an ECNL Head Coach and Director of Elite Analysis for The Colorado Rapids Soccer Club. Their son Chance lives in Salt Lake City and is currently in the West Valley City Fire Academy, he will be a fireman. He is married to Emily a nurse in the University of Utah burn unit.
People who come to me want muscular strength, muscular and cardio-respiratory endurance, flexibility, and to improve their body composition.
I believe that the most efficient way to accomplish these objectives is by metabolic training with moderate to heavy weight. I use fundamental movement patterns performed with all types of different equipment and or body weight, with carefully controlled rest and work intervals. That, coupled with close heart rate monitoring, allows us to dial in the perfect workout zone for you so you can get the best results in the least amount of time.
The coolest thing about my custom timers, which I develop for each client's needs, is that the timer tells you when to go and when you can stop. Here's an example of a couple of rounds and interval times that I've shortened for demonstration purposes:
Your number of rounds, rest, and lifting interval times vary according to your individual capabilities. The timer keeps us on schedule, and you get the most from your workout session.
I have coached at the high school varsity level and have been tested in the cauldron of fire with elementary and junior high-aged athletes. I like competing, I like to win, and I love to train. I enjoy the discipline and the regimen that is required to get and keep optimal endurance and strength.
I like to feel my heart pound, to be challenged to get one more rep, lift a little more weight, or just last a few more seconds than I did before. I feel good about the hard work and the personal satisfaction of overcoming physical and mental obstacles. I am a survivor of the University of Oregon wrestling team van crash that claimed several lives and left others with permanent disabilities. I am also a survivor of the University of Oregon hostage and fatal shooting. I am a cancer survivor and most recently had both my hips replaced. I understand adversity, I know how physical conditioning helps you overcome obstacles in life. I was lucky to have a philosophy of discipline passed down to me by two excellent models and mentors in my life. One is my father and the other is an amazing wrestling coach.
Much time has passed since the principles of success were shared with me. As a father and a coach, I have been able to observe many other people who call themselves coaches and fathers, which clearly illuminates how truly fortunate I have been.
Show up even when you don't feel like it. Train hard, and leave it all on the mat, field, or gym. Eat for performance. Get adequate rest. Enjoy your victories as well as those of your training partners. Be grateful.
We're a small business located on Galveston Ave in Bend, OR, and we've been here for 26 years.
For us, full service is just that - consulting with a client to discover their true needs. Is the treadmill the best option to take off some unwanted pounds, or are there orthopedic issues that might be better addressed with an elliptical?
If it was easy to get fit by buying a piece of equipment, we would not have so many people feeling unhealthy, unhappy, weak, or overwhelmed by life. My life is, has been, and always will be fitness. I know that no one wants a treadmill. They want to look good, feel good, and be healthy. Usually done in the least amount of time at their convenience.
Getting the right thing delivered and installed, going to bat for you in warranty situations, being there quickly with a certified service technician should any problems come up, as well as providing cutting-edge training instructions from a certified personal trainer - that's what we're all about.
I believe that fitness is the key to living the life you desire, and by dedicating yourself to a fitness program, you can achieve the lifestyle you have always wanted.
I provide functional training sessions that develop strength, balance, and endurance that train you for a healthy and enjoyable life.
I am here to help hold you accountable and make exercise fun and enjoyable.
